Nicky is stressed. Bees, wasps and bats want to live in her house. It’s the last straw when another uninvited visitor takes up residence.

The doorbell rang just after six, just after Jake had phoned to say he was going to be late, just as Daniel began to fuss.

   ‘Mrs Richie?’ A little man, with startlingly big teeth, stood on the doorstep. ‘The Estate Agent sent me… to view,’ he said licking his lips.

   Trying to repress a shudder Debbie said, ‘I’m sorry, you can't - tonight. It just isn't convenient.’

   ‘Oh... It is such a nice, big house, Mrs Richie.’ Went on the man as if he’d not heard. ‘I’d guess you could lose yourself in such a house. Lots of nooks… and crannies?’
